- Prepare funds for down payment (usually 10–20%)
- Consider additional charges like stamp duty, GST, registration fees, society charges, etc.
3. Benefit from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)
If you're a first-time homebuyer, you may be eligible for subsidized interest rates on your home loan under the PMAY (Urban) scheme:
- CLSS benefit up to ₹2.67 lakh
- Applicable for EWS, LIG, MIG-I & MIG-II categories
- You must not own a pucca house anywhere in India
